Resveratrol Benefits and Side Effects

Resveratrol is a compound found in plants and red wine grape skin. Its benefits are similar to drinking red wine and are now produced as a supplement. Resveratrol benefits those with diabetes, cardiovascular disease, arthritis, cancer and many more ailments. It is also known to make people live longer.
It is considered to be safe if ingested with a limit of 500 mg a day. Over that dose, it may show some adverse side effects such as toxicity. Signs of toxicity include elevated createnine, alkaline phosphatase, elevated BUN, weight loss, decreased hemoglobin and red blood count and increase in white blood count.
