alumni reunion dinner

Mom’s batch in high school were hosting their school’s alumni homecoming dinner party. There were games and prizes to be given away after the dinner. The party was held at a fancy hotel and the party had a Chinese theme. Chinese food was served and the guests came in their fanciest Chinese attire, with girls wearing their pretty cheong sams. After dinner came the raffle. Lucky mom, she had won one of the door prizes. Mom went to the stage to claim her prize. It was quite a big box, wrapped in a pretty gold wrapper with a pink bow. When mom came back to our table I immediately opened her prize. It was a melitta coffee maker. We laughed because none of us in our family drank coffee.
