Failing Forward in Fashion Design

Working in the fashion industry has its ups and downs. One of the most disappointing facets can be the sheer amount of ideas that are shot down before they ever become reality. As a designer, you can pour your heart, soul, and all your creativity into fashion design sketches, just to have a whole book of them dismissed in about five seconds flat. The good thing is, working in this industry has helped me to develop some thick skin and learn how to handle rejection in a “failing forward” manner. Not to mention, by taking the constructive criticism that has been offered to heart, I’ve become a much better designer in the process.
