Growing pain in children and how it is relieved
February 13th, 2010 by admin
Growing pain is a common problem among children. It can be distressing for the parents because they are awake at night from sleep to watch over their children. A true growing pain only occurs at night. It was described as a cramp like pain in the upper calf muscle behind the knee. It is usually relieved by rubbing. If the pain occurs during the day and the location is in the bone or joint and is not relieved by rubbing, then it is not a classical growing pain. It needs to be checked out for other causes when the pain does not match this pattern. Some of the problems associated with this kind of symptoms can lead to a serious one.
