I Feel Sorry For My Sister’s Kids

I feel sorry for my sister’s kids. She doesn’t let them celebrate Halloween. She says that the holiday glorifies all things evil, but I couldn’t disagree more. I think that it helps kids to understand their fears and realize that there is a difference between things that are really scary and imaginary dangers. Besides that, when else do you get to be anything you want to, even if it isn’t real? I have fond childhood memories of attending parties and going trick-or-treating, and my own children start the Halloween Countdown weeks before the last day of October. I would never want to take that joy away from them.
