Procrastination
July 30th, 2010 by admin
I just read an article that gives an intersting view of procrastination. The author points out that, often, the biggest obstacle to getting a task done (especially one that we see as unpleasant or boring) is to simply promise to do 15 minutes worth of work on that task. Often once the project is started, we finish it with hardly a second thought. This applies to a multitude of different tasks. One I remember being frustrated by is starting a research paper. The hard part is really just sitting down and thinking through the large-scale design of ideas in the paper. The same concept applies to many jobs.
