Enter The iPad – But Is It Really A Kindle Killer?
February 14th, 2010 by admin
So Amazon have finally put us all out of our misery and released the iPad. It is basically like a huge iPod Touch – but the display is crisper and handles video much better. Then entry level iPad is $499 – just $10 more than the Kindle DX. So, does this mean that the kindle reader is dead? Has the Kindle killer finally arrived? Maybe, and then again, maybe not. The Kindle uses e-ink technology displays whereas the display on the iPad is back-lit. It’s a great display of course, but not only does it produce more eye strain – it also requires more power. Battery life for the iPad is claimed to be around ten hours. The Kindle will go for weeks between charges (with the wireless turned off).
